Dr Mohamed El Kholy is Emeritus professor and former Head of the Pediatrics department, Faculty of Medicine‑ Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He has served as Head of the Pediatric Endocrinology Unit of Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine, Cairo from 1984 till 2010.

Dr El Kholy has received title of “Foreigner Assistant” from the University of Rene Descartes, Paris in 1984. He was also recipient of ESPE Henning Andersen Prize in 2012.

Dr Mohamed is founder and Administrative member of the Egyptian Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and member of the International board of KIGS (International Growth Data Base). He is also Co-Founder of International Network on Endocrine Complications in Thalassemia (ICET-A). Dr El Kholy is also a member of the Endocrine society, the Endocrine society of Ped Endocrinology and the Mediterranean Active Group of Adolescent Medicine (MAGAM).

He has also been a member the National committee for growth hormone therapy and the National committee for neonatal thyroid screening. He also served as Honorary Chairman of the ESPE Winter School 2008 in Cairo. He was also a board member of permanent committee for promotion of professors and assistant professors in Pediatrics from 2008 till 2011.

Dr El Kholy has published 95 articles in national and international pee reviewed journals. He has also been supervisor and co‑supervisor of 20 Doctorate and 80 Master’s thesis of Pediatrics and Endocrinology. He has also been principle investigator in four Multi-Center Clinical studies on IGF-1, long acting GH and rickets.
